The poeple in Yalvaç (called Yalvaçli) are very hospitable and open minded. The town is contrasty: you see horse drawn carriage as well as the latest german car models. Young people and old ones living somewhere between tradition and modern life.
The center of the city is a places called "Cinar alti" (under the maple tree), next to the Devlethan Mosque, which is as far as I know the oldest one in this towm. Tea gardens are framing the square below the giant maple tree where the men meet befire and after the prayers which rule the traditional daliy rhytm fo the older generations.
When I came to Yalvaç for my first time this place was visited only by men. But since the late 2010's years women and families gather there, too.
